Welcome to Sutton Coldfield Town Centre Partnership
Sutton Coldfield Town Centre Partnership (SCTCP) was formed in 2008. The prime focus of SCTCP is the businesses in the town centre (which covers the area from Beeches Walk to Bishop Vesey Grammar School). There are approximately 360 businesses in the area, including both a major retail core and a large professional and service business sector.
Since the appointment of Mike Bushell, the Town Centre Manager (TCM) in January 2010, SCTCP has begun to deliver a range of services to the businesses in the area, including promotion of a City Council grant scheme to independent retailers, the launch of “Sutton In Partnership”, a business network aimed at all businesses across the whole of Sutton Coldfield, an SCTCP newsletter and the development of the “Sutton Expo” concept to reintroduce what is good about the whole town to people who live in Sutton Coldfield.
SCTCP is a “virtual” organisation, bringing local companies and individuals together to work for the benefit of businesses in the town. It currently does not employ anyone, instead it works with Birmingham Chamber of Commerce (who employ the TCM), Birmingham City Council Sutton Coldfield Constituency Office (who provide administration and back up support) and local business people (who provide support in the development of new initiatives). It is however, the voice of the businesses in the town centre, representing their interests on issues with the City Council and other key bodies.
The key focus of SCTCP is the development of a Business Improvement District (BID) covering most of the SCTCP area with a view to taking proposals to a ballot of businesses in September 2011.
